Who do you think you are?

Have you ever had the experience when somebody tells you something they have observed about you and that you had no idea about? Where you have been really taken a-back about their comments concerning you?

I think that sort of experience is actually quite common. We seem to go through life with a view of ourselves and think everybody else has that same view of us. This can manifest itself in a number of ways, whether that is seeing yourself as a bit of an introvert maybe and others have surprised you by saying they think you are actually a bit of a “life of the party” type. Or inwardly lacking confidence and feeling somewhat negative but others commenting on your positive nature and contribution. Because we know something about ourselves, we think that others know that too. This can be very limiting for you.

 

We can actually limit our potential and achievements  in life through how we see ourselves. More often than not we are very self critical and give ourselves a pretty hard time for many different reasons.

Learning to be yourself, life your life and be at peace with yourself is very hard to learn and do. But when you stop worrying about what others think, when you live the life that you want to live, free from others expectations and demands you can achieve so much more and be so much more fulfilled. There is so much less resistance in the way.

So be good to yourself. Give yourself a break. Learn to love yourself and grow yourself. It is amazing what you can then achieve.
