Who am I and what do I do?
I find the easiest way to answer this question is to use a picture and describe it as follows :
“I am the mountain guide that adventures with you to your summit”
What does that mean?
Well as a coach I have been trained to work with people to move them closer to where they want to be or who and how they want to be. I call this their “summit”. I use the metaphor of a mountain guide because the image portrays the role and intention of me as a coach, to travel with you, to be beside you and use my training to help keep you safe as you explore new and challenging territory encountered on the way to your own, personal summit.
Everybodies summits are different and everybodies journey to their summit will be different. Along the way there will be obstacles to overcome, fears to face and challenges to conquer. The journey may have risks and take you to places that seem dangerous. At times it may feel like you can’t do it or can’t possibly get there. As a coach, as your mountain guide, my job is to keep a focus on your summit, to make sure we are heading in the right direction and keep moving towards it. To work with you to overcome obstacles and challenges, to recognise when you are being bold, brave and courageous and to call you forth when you are not. To encourage you when you lack the self belief and to be a mirror to reflect back what I am seeing in you. To dig deep with you to find the true wonders and qualities, gifts, values and inner resources that you have to equip you for the adventure and take you to your summit. To see the best in you when you can no longer see that for yourself. And to discover with you the new things you learn about yourself along the way.
I love adventures. Where is yours taking you?
