5 steps to move you forward

What is holding you back?

There are many things that can potentially get in the way of you achieving your best, reaching your potential and living the life you want to live.  Here are a few with hopefully some pointers to help you overcome them.

1. Letting go of what you thought should have happened and accepting what has happened.

Sometimes things don’t turn out the way we expected them to or planned them to. The sooner you can learn to accept the reality of the situation, the sooner you can move forward. Spending time and energy wrestling with something that has passed will only restrict you and limit you. Accept, recover and move on.

2. Having all the answers

So many people don’t start soon enough because they don’t have all the answers yet. Having to have all the answers is a story we make up and tell ourselves. The sooner you get started the sooner you discover what the answers are.

3. I don’t deserve it

This is a subtle one which sneakily catches people out. It has a way of derailing people – you start off motivated and successful heading happily towards your dream and your goal but if you believe you don’t deserve it, when you start to get close to it, you can actually sabotage yourself and blow it. I’ve seen it happen many times. Start telling yourself you do deserve it.

4. Fear of failure

Success is not built on success, rather success is built on failure, then learning and applying that learning. Fear of failure kills more dreams than failure itself. See failure as part of success.

5. Comparing yourself to others.

You are you and that is your ultimate power and your secret weapon. Comparing yourself to others causes stress and anxiety. Allow yourself to be you, do it your way and live your life. Do it for you and not for others. Prove yourself to yourself not others.
